Report Misrepresentation On Our Site

Why report misrepresentation?
The academic integrity of our site depends on the accuracy of the information presented.  We are not referring here to the accuracy of the works themselves, which is, as always, subject to scholarly debate.  What we mean is the information about the works, and their authors and editors, as described on our site.

If believe you have identified such misrepresentation, please report it to us by following the procedure below.  We will then investigate the issues. If your charges are substantiated, we will take appropriate action to either correct the misrepresentation (if it seems minor and accidental) or remove the works and their author from our site (if the misrepresentation seems major or deliberate).

You can also use this system to report other violations of our standards.

Thank you.

How to report misrepresentation

The procedure is simple.

  1. Activate the reporting system by clicking here.

  2. Navigate to the page where you believe information about a work or author is misrepresented.  (For a work, you'll need to go past the topic "listing" page, which may list several workss, to the page dedicated to the particular work.  From there, in turn, you can click on the author/editor's name, or the link after the description, to go to the page about the author/editor.)

  3. Click on the "report this work" or "report this author" button which now appears on the right next to the "tell a colleague" button.

  4. An email addressed to us, identifying the work or author and requesting additional information, should open in your email program.  Supply the additional information requested, and send the email.

  5. Repeat for any additional works or authors you wish to report.  (Note:  if a particular author has misrepresented several works in the same way, you may find it more convenient to report the author rather than all of the individual works.  However, you will still need to identify each instance of misrepresentation.)

We will keep your identity confidential.

Thank you for helping us maintain the academic integrity of Download Academic.
